Is everything all rosy and sunny with you? Here at Carrots it is a bit....overcast. I can't write pretend happy posts when I am not feeling happy (goodness knows I've tried).
In a bid to cheer myself up here's my Sunshine On A Rainy Day List. I would like to write ten. I am thinking that is a tad ambitious....
- Making banana bread with your three-year-old is a good tonic for the blurghs, or arghs or whatever ails you. No three-year-old? Just make banana bread. Because eating it is good too.
- It is nearly spring. Therefore nicer weather is on its way. It may be a while coming, but it is (and ignore snow warnings for next week).
- Next week? That's half-term. Lots to be thankful there, not least a break from doing The Bloody School Run (a source of MUCH stress). So all good.
- The idea of a bubble bath, early night and a good book is a bright spark in a gloomy day. Even if it's not achievable, just thinking about it is nice.
- Blimey, I'm really struggling with this. Er....if number four cannot be achieved it is also good to have a Very Early Morning Soak while listening to Sarah Kennedy on Radio 2. Some might listen to Radio 4 but that's a bit too heavy at 6.15am for me.
- Filling up your virtual basket at seed company websites then clicking away is fun. Actually, it's not but let's pretend.
- Blogging. Look, I can make grumpy lists! I can vent, write what I like, create or take photos for it. And I get to "talk" to people from all over. I get to meet some really wonderful people. Ah, sunshine at last....
I know there are plenty of important things to be happy and grateful about. And I am. It's just I am also really peed off too. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.
By the time you read this I hope my mood will have shifted. Either way I shall be enjoying a hot chocolate (with whipped cream, naturally) in the physic garden in town. Because chocolate and gardens are enough to lift anyone's heart (apart from banana bread making three-year-olds of course).
