While I was in London I had a few minutes to spare, after eating my lunch, so I went for a wander ostensibly to get a take out coffee.
I chanced upon a park but time was pressing and I couldn't find my way in past the black railings (in other words I couldn't be bothered to walk far. Plus I didn't want to get lost. And yes, I can easily get lost).
It was while I was out and about I noticed the planting scheme at a hotel and thought of Jane and her Hot or Not posts. I thought it was hot but what do I know?
The only thing I do is that when you're surrounded by concrete, people, taxis and noise finding a bit of nature makes that little bit seem even more special.
Where I live I just have to walk for two minutes and I'm at the foot of the South Downs. I do realise how special that is but sometimes, quite a lot, I just don't notice it or I forget. And, to be honest, I get a bit bored with the lack of variety in almost everything when living in the countryside. One field of sheep look pretty much like another....
Which isn't to say I'd like to live in London. But I do love it and the many facets of its different-to-me beauty. A change is really as good as a rest.
Tell me one thing you love about where you live. I love.....erm.....I'm going to have to think about this!
