My back garden is starting to look like a market stall. Which is all good. If not a little nerve wracking (is that plant dead, oh goodness, got to water them all, oh how will I get them to school...etc).
So I've been loving the recent rain because the plants haven't died. Although my nerves are a little frazzled. And did I mention I thought it was a good idea to have a Plant and Cake Stall? Luckily a friend is rallying the troops and a team of mums (and dads) will be getting all floury soon. As will I.
Here is my list of what's for sale: tomato plants, courgettes, rainbow chard, red geraniums, sunflowers, melons, chillies, cucumbers, basil, purple sprouting broccoli and house leeks plus some plant markers Hubby made out of left over slates.
I also have another list, going round and round and round my head that's entitled Plant Stall Things to Worry About and includes I-hope-the-little-ones-behave-and-don't-run-off-while-I'm-running-the-stall alongside I-hope-I'm-not-left-with-a-gazillion-cakes-and-plants coupled with I-don't-know-how-much-to-charge.
Factor in a funeral, major house renovations, sports day, visit to Big School, pre-school leavers' picnic and a sleepover and, quite frankly, I feel like my head is going to explode.
And I don't know when I'm going to manage to escape to the allotment for some restorative pottering. Oh dear.
